Where: Meghalaya and Assam
When: April 7 to 15
How long: 8 days
What to expect:
The journey into this enigmatic region begins with a visit to the enchanting hamlets and breathtaking landscapes of the ‘abode of clouds’ that is Meghalaya, later moving on to the stunning forests of Assam. The amazing living root bridges, patiently hand-crafted over decades, are a moving testament to the ability of humans to learn from nature. In Assam, we head out to explore the grasslands of Kaziranga. This spectacular forest is one of the last remaining homes of the One Horned Indian Rhinoceros, a magnificent creature that looks like it has been around since the time of the dinosaurs. For the avid birder, Kaziranga is also an excellent birding site with over 400 bird species.
