How much: Rs 2.24 lakh; includes contribution to the cost of the solar panels and batteries for electrification of the village, local logistics and transport, accommodation (hotels, homestays and camping on shared basis), permits, airport transfers in Leh and all meals as per the itinerary.
What to expect:
Travel with a group of changemakers from across the world to a remote valley of the Indian Himalayas and learn first-hand the impact of climate change on indigenous communities. Participants will get to have some unique experiences, like seeing the second largest glacier of Ladakh, bringing Solar Energy to a remote Himalayan village and interacting with the local communities of Zanskar. Organic farming, zero waste and recycling are among the many sustainable practices that you will be learning from the communities. The expedition will be a climate positive one with a negative carbon footprint as it will displace kerosene with Solar Energy through electrification of the village.
